About Wabi Sabi Farm
How We Got Started
Hi! We’re Jimmy and Johnna Livingston (but you can call me Jo), the owners, operators, and all-around hard workers here at Wabi Sabi Farm. Nestled in the heart of the Francis Marion National Forest, our farm is built on a deep respect for the land and those who cared for it before us.
We’ve been happily married for 30 years, blessed with three children and now two wonderful grandchildren. Before farming, we ran a screen-printing business in Moncks Corner for 18 years, but we always felt a pull back to the land. That passion and connection eventually led us to start Wabi Sabi Farm.
Why Wabi Sabi?
We get asked about our name a lot. After all, “Wabi Sabi” isn’t something you hear every day in the Lowcountry! The term comes from a Japanese philosophy that celebrates simplicity, nature, and the beauty of imperfection.
That’s what our farm is all about: embracing all of life’s imperfections. Life (and farming!) is never picture-perfect, and that’s exactly what makes it beautiful. So come visit us sometime, and let’s celebrate life’s perfectly imperfect moments together.
